Today we have Dr. Gabriel Castaño-Heredia, M.D. who Studied at Instituto Tecnológico de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM) “Ignacio A Santos” School of medicine; Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico from January 2008 to August 2015 & currently is a second year Pediatrics Resident at University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio And he comes in to the show to offer us the perspective of what it is like to go through the NRMP and struggle with the supplemental offering application program or S.O.A.P. But finally, he had perseverance to achieve his dream and was able to become a licensed and credentialed physician to train and practice medicine in the United States. We also discuss the alternative pathway of what it’s like to commit and do research and publish yourself in medical journals as a way to strengthen your curriculum vitae before applying into a residency program in America.
