This a very dynamic and engaging episode, in which with Dr. Rodriguez we role-play as Interviewer (Daniela) (i.e. Residency Director) & Dr. Osorio (Me) as the Interviewee (Applicant). We tried go over the most commonly asked questions, usually expected during an interview day and we go over examples in how these could be answered, but by no means, represents a framework, nor the perfect answer either, but at least a guidance in how to approach this process. There is many ways to prepare for this day, and one of them is by reviewing the AAMC website and visit the page: https://students-residents.aamc.org/applying-residency/apply-smart-residency/interviewing-residency-positions/ but in summary, you must: 1. Prepare in advance (Practice and Rehearse) 2. Be professional and respectful to everyone (From the Environmental Services Lady all the way up to the Program Director) 3. Ask thoughtful questions! (They are an open book and are available to be reviewed, so you do not feel surprised as they come up) 4. Send thank-you notes (Written notes are preferred – So gather contact information, and be ready to personalize those) Follow the link to visit the Most FAQ during US Residency Interviews: https://aamc-orange.global.ssl.fastly.net/production/media/filer_public/09/bf/09bf383c-3ff6-41bd-95c5-19e0f1f3dc55/frequent_interview_questions.pdf I hope you enjoy the show, because we definitely had lots of fun at trying to accomplish the general goal of relying the idea of how to overcome this stressful and mentally tasking day!
