The Harm Free Game helps frontline clinical and support staff think about ways to reduce avoidable harm in their care settings. The board game features “patients” in various health and social care environments. Players work together to discuss and assess risks for harms like falls or pressure ulcers. Fully assessed patients are moved to the “safe zone” for evaluation by the game facilitator.
The Harm Free Game supports the NHS Harm Free Care programme and was a finalist in the Patient Safety Awards 2013. It encourages teamwork, discussion, and reflection. Participants share and reflect on their experiences to improve their work practices.
