The Zombie Sepsis Game

Category

In a school long ago and far away, I found myself as the science-loving chess club member with a passion for team sports and a competitive spirit. Fast forward a bit, and I was grappling with the complexities of the Kreb cycle in vast lecture halls during my undergraduate studies. Then, as a graduate medical student, I found myself immersed in problem-based learning sessions, where small groups gathered around tables, munching on carrot sticks dipped in hummus as we collaborated to teach each other.

This style of team-based social learning left a lasting impression on me. It sparked a thought: Why does education have to be dull and difficult? Why can’t it be interactive, immersive, competitive, cooperative, and, dare I say, fun? Why can’t it resemble a game, igniting curiosity and engagement in learners?
