A Game-Based Approach to Teaching and Learning Anatomy of the Liver and Portal Venous System

By the end of this session, learners will be able to:

1. Describe the liver’s anatomical features, including its surface anatomy and peritoneal connections.
2. Explain the venous drainage pathways from the foregut, midgut, and hindgut that form the hepatic portal vein.
3. Identify the four main sites of portocaval anastomosis and link them to symptoms caused by portal hypertension.
