Musculoskeletal Basics

By the end of this curriculum, residents will be able to:

1. Take a focused musculoskeletal history of the knee and shoulder for patients with related complaints and identify important findings.
2. Perform the key parts of the physical exam for knee or shoulder issues and interpret the results correctly.
3. Choose the right medication and dose, and use anatomical landmarks to find the correct needle entry point, angle, and depth for steroid injections in the knee joint or shoulder’s subacromial space.
